Duyung darat Viral di Thailand Video

Viru Nikah Terinsip, popularly known by her nickname “Duyung Darat” which translates to “Mermaid on Land,” recently faced a scandal that led to her being stripped of the prestigious title of Unduk Ngadau Johor 2023. The controversy erupted after a video from her holiday trip to Thailand went viral on various social media platforms, sparking outrage among the public.

The viral video depicted Viru engaging in interactions with male dancers that were deemed inappropriate and unbecoming of a beauty queen representing the cultural ideals of the Kadazandusun community. The Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA), the organizers of the Unduk Ngadau pageant held during the annual Kaamatan festival in Sabah, faced a deluge of complaints and backlash from the public regarding Viru’s behavior.

In response to the growing controversy, the central committee of KDCA convened a meeting to deliberate on the appropriate course of action. They sought the counsel of the esteemed Council of Elders and ritual leaders to guide their decision-making process. The committee proposed the revocation of Viru’s title as a consequence of her actions. However, the final verdict was left to the discretion of the KDCA Johor branch, as they had initially bestowed the title upon Viru.

Amidst the ongoing deliberations, Viru took a proactive step by releasing a heartfelt apology video on her TikTok account @\_duyung.darat. In the 53-second clip, she acknowledged her lapse in judgment during her Thailand getaway and expressed remorse for the controversial content she had posted online. Viru conveyed her willingness to accept the repercussions of her actions with humility and grace.

In her apology, Viru emphasized that her participation in the Unduk Ngadau pageant was a personal choice, and she was now voluntarily relinquishing the title with a sense of honor. She candidly admitted her imperfections and sought strength from a higher power to navigate the challenges that lay ahead. Viru also made a heartfelt plea to the public, requesting them to refrain from involving her family and friends in the scandal, as they were not implicated in her actions.

Following Viru’s apology, the KDCA Johor branch reached a final decision to officially revoke her Unduk Ngadau title. Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, the esteemed president of KDCA, issued a statement expressing that Viru’s conduct in the viral video fell short of the exemplary standards expected of an Unduk Ngadau winner. He emphasized that the title holder should embody the essence of Huminodun, a paragon of beauty, both inwardly and outwardly.
